Sinus lift using PRP for dental implants

Sinus lift using PRP for dental implants

In a recent article in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (71: 1670-1675, 2013), surgeons describe using blood clots or PRP like products to create bone for large bone defects (>5mm). For small defects, PRP/blood clots are routinely used for small trans-crestal sinus lifts (2mm). It was the conclusion of the study that PRP/Blood could only regenerate bone for a 2-3mm defect. For larger defects, dental bone grafting material would also be needed with the PRP.

Dr. John Freeman strives to be current on all the dental bone grafting techniques for placement of dental implants. His office continues to serve the West Houston area of Memorial, Katy, Sugarland, Cypress, Richmond/Rosenberg.
