Teeth in a day, teeth by tonight, all on 4, teeth in a hour-what does it all mean.

Teeth in a day, teeth by tonight, all on 4, teeth in a hour-what does it all mean.

For a person looking to do implants, these terms are very catchy. But what do they mean to me as a patient. All of these terms are basic descriptions of a similar concept. Various implant companies or doctors will trademark the term so only they can use it for advertisement.

That being said, the concept is that 4 or more implants are placed at the same surgery. This surgery may also include removal of failing natural teeth. After the implants are placed a set of acrylic teeth are attached to the implants to replace a upper set of teeth, lower set of teeth or both. This set of teeth may be the final set but often times is a temporary set of teeth that is used while the implants osseointegrate (fuse to the bone). The final set is then placed 3 to 6 months later. The attractive part of all this is that there is typically one surgery and you have teeth immediately!

If you have questions about this type of surgery please call the office of John Freeman MD, DDS, FACS. He has been serving the West Houston area  for over 13 years.
